Indian tribes try to survive around Manaus

September 24, 2020 – Manaus, Amazonia, Brazil. Near the city of Manaus resides hundreds of Indians from various tribe who left the jungle to settle in a more urban area. This urbanisation has lead to mass poverty and crime from various drug gangs trying to sell drugs and recruit amongst poor indian teenagers. This newly formed area, better known as Parque das Indios reunites many tribes, like the Kokama, Bare, Tikuna, Satere or the Maue, each of these tribes struggle today economically as tourism has died due to the new Covid.
