Dhows that still ply the trade routes off the East African coast are in every way the same boats that have sailed those waters for thousands of years. This is also a life that is changing. Even now the ancient vessels are being fitted out with engines the Dhow in it’s originial form (under sail only) is on a journey of transition to mordernization and will soon be cosigned to history forever.
