“I am not interested in photographing people for the purpose of glimpsing the ‘true‘ self. I would hesitate to classify any of my photos as portraits. What I am curious about is the situational self – people’s behavior in relation to other people, their setting and their cultural environment. My photographs are about a ‘social animal’ rather then a Renaissance ideal of individualism.” – Dina Litovsky
